this morning, I was hanging with the girls and remembered a lullaby from the Sleepytime Bird Sesame Street record that I listened to in *heavy* rotation when I was a kid.

I suspect that it was what I fell asleep to for many many years.

Anyhow, I couldn't quite remember all the words, and a few moments of googling turned up this post which had all the words.

It totally made my day, and I wanted to re-post the words here so they're quickly accessible for me, and now for you too:

Big Bird's Lullaby:

Sleep my baby
Softly rest
Like a nestling
In a nest
Though you are too small to fly
You'll be a big bird, by and by

Though your song is still a peep
Soft your feathers
Small your beak
Tuck your head beneath your wing
Hear the guardian angels sing

Cheep, cheep, cheep, cheep
Sleep my baby

Go to sleep.

If anyone out there has a recording of this record, please let me know!
